The DeKalb County Board of Education held its regularly scheduled meeting at Collinsville High Schools new state-of-the-art Agricultural and Home Economics building Monday night.
The DeKalb County Board of Education unanimously approved the appointment of Kelly Armstrong as the new District 2 Board Member during Tuesday night s board meeting.
Fyffe High School senior Trace Whitmire has gained acceptance to Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, one of the top Ivy League schools in the US.
âI was admitted to Yale in the Early Action round, I found out about my acceptance on December 16, 2020,â said Whitmire. âI am still shocked about my acceptance, it feels like a dream.â
When a thick envelope arrived two weeks later from Yale University, Trace was thrilled.
âItâs the opportunity of a lifetime,â he said. âI am so honored to be given this chance.â
Whitmire plans on following a path within the Arts field along the lines of digital art or media.
