There are fewer scientists who are devout believers than in the general public, but the fact that there are scientists who are devout believers shows that they are not incompatible. I think there are not incompatible and all if your belief in god is the kind of god who does not intervene in the physical universe. A god who sets things up and sits down on the sidelines. That is not incompatible at all
