What the measure will look like remains to be seen.
âI personally want to make sure that we explore all the options,â commission Chair Natalia D. Macker told the Jackson Hole Daily.
The Teton County Board of County Commissioners has, in the past, passed a resolution condemning hate. The board â then a separate slate of elected officials â did so in 2001 after Sept. 11, condemning both the terrorist attacks and the resulting âincrease in discrimination, threats and violence against Arabs, Muslimsâ and other minority groups.
The resolution also said that Teton County âcitizens pride themselves on diversity and respect for people of all races, faiths, ethnicities and sexual orientations.â
Teton County commissioners have named five of seven members to a committee that will help steer planning for future development in northern South Park.
After meeting behind closed doors, the county chose Laura Bonich, Bill Collins, Scott Pierson, Jennifer Ford and Hans Flinch to serve on the steering committee for the northern South Park neighborhood planning process.
Two other seats will be made available to as yet unnamed representatives of the Gill and Lockhart families, the two primary landowners in the area.
âI would, on behalf of the board and staff, thank all of the members of the community that applied,â Teton County Board of County Commissioners Chair Natalia D. Macker said after naming the five Tuesday. âThere will be many opportunities to engage in this process as it unfolds over the coming months, and we appreciate everyoneâs interest in serving the community.â
