No 2 Razorbacks host 12 teams at John McDonnell Invitational

Shawn Price April 23, 2021 FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The No. 2 Arkansas Razorbacks compete at home this weekend in the John McDonnell Invitational, which will be held Saturday and Sunday, April 24-25, at John McDonnell Field. This marks the first home meet this season in which fans are allowed. A dozen schools are scheduled to join the Razorbacks this weekend. They include No. 7 Alabama, Arkansas-Little Rock, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Arkansas State, Central Arkansas, Friends, Kansas, Mississippi, Oklahoma State, Oral Roberts, Tulsa, and Wichita State. “If mother nature will cooperate, across the board we need to keep improving on some of the marks we’ve established already,” said Arkansas women’s head coach Lance Harter. “Some people are starting to switch into secondary events and try to get a good qualifier for either SECs or nationals.”

Razorbacks win pair of events to open Texas A&M Invitational

Shawn Price April 9, 2021 COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Arkansas won two of the three events they contested during the Friday portion of the Texas A&M Team Invitational at EB Cushing Stadium. Lauren Martinez set an outdoor career best of 14 feet, 2 ½ inches (4.33) to claim the pole vault over teammate Nastassja Campbell, who matched the winning height. Both Razorbacks matched the facility record of the relatively new venue. A close finish in the 200m had Tiana Wilson capturing the victory in a wind-aided 23.07 (+3.1 wind) over a 23.17w for teammate Jada Baylark. Arkansas dominated the event, finishing 1-2-4-5-7-9. In the long jump, G’Auna Edwards matched the winning mark of 21-2w (6.45) but finished second overall based on the three inch difference of her second best mark.

Shawn Price April 8, 2021 COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Arkansas competes in the Texas A&M Team Invitational this Friday and Saturday as the Razorback sprinters, hurdlers, and vaulters return to action following a stellar performance in the Texas Relays two weeks ago. Teams competing in the non-scored meet at EB Cushing Stadium includes Houston, Houston Baptist, McNeese State, Northwestern State, Prairie View A&M, Rice, Sam Houston, SMU, TCU, UTSA, Texas Southern, and host Texas A&M.
