A Tycroes woman must pay more than £800 in a fine and costs after failing to identify the driver of a vehicle thought to have committed an offence. Elizabeth Jones, of Parc Gwernen, Fforest Fach, failed to give information of the driver of a Vauxhall Corsa, alleged to have been guilty of an offence. The 20-year-old found the case against her proved under the single justice procedure at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court. She was fined £660, ordered to pay a £66 victim surcharge and £90 costs, totally £816. Her driving licence was endorsed with six points. A charge of speeding at 83mph in a 70mph zone on the A48 near Nantycaws junction on October 31 was dismissed.

A woman and child have been seriously injured following a crash on the A48 in Carmarthenshire.
Police are appealing for witnesses after the collision between Carmarthen and Nantycaws on Thursday night.
The incident happened on the westbound carriageway at around 18:10 GMT, with two vehicles involved in the initial crash and two others colliding in the aftermath.
Both the injured child and woman are in a stable condition in hospital.
Police have asked anyone who saw a grey Nissan Note in the area at the time to contact them.
