Varavara Rao after his release on medical bail
MUMBAI: Almost two weeks after the Bombay high court granted him temporary bail for six months on health grounds, P V Varavara Rao, 82, was discharged from Nanavati super-speciality hospital late Saturday night.
Rao is an accused in the 2018 Elgar Parishad case of Pune. He is accused of being a senior Maoist leader and under serious sections of the anti-terror law, Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and the National Investigation Agency (NIA) which is the prosecuting agency had opposed his bail plea.
The HC, on March allowed his plea to be released on furnishing a cash security of Rs 50,000. He has to now furnish two solvent sureties of like amount by April 5. His bail conditions require him to remain in Mumbai.

Mumbai: Since the recent surge in Covid cases in the city, doctors are witnessing a new phenomenon patients are now coming in to the hospital with pneumonia and their X-rays reveal white patches over their lungs, unlike earlier in the pandemic, when they would develop pneumonia afterwards. Doctors said the main reason for the white patches on the lungs is the delay in treatment, while others believe the virus is changing now and this is the reason for the abnormality in the reports of patients.

MUMBAI: A hospital from western suburbs in collaboration with the Mumbai Traffic Police organized Bikeathon Ride to Road Safety, on February 13.
The event was flagged off by Manpreet Singh Sohal, director, and COO, Nanavati Super Speciality Hospital, Somnath Gharge, DCP (Western Suburbs), Shakuntala Maitri, ACP (West) and Santaji Ghorpade, senior police inspector, Santacruz Traffic Police Division.
