Varavara Rao released on medical bail in Mumbai

MUMBAI: Almost two weeks after the Bombay high court granted him temporary bail for six months on health grounds, P V
Varavara Rao, 82, was discharged from
Nanavati super-speciality hospital late Saturday night.
Rao is an accused in the
2018 Elgar Parishad case of Pune. He is accused of being a senior Maoist leader and under serious sections of the anti-terror law, Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and the National Investigation Agency (NIA) which is the prosecuting agency had opposed his bail plea.
