Speaking about the ongoing crisis in Sri Lanka, MP Namal Rajapaksa said one cannot throw out a president as it will deepen the political instability. Since the start of the economic crisis, Opposition leaders have called for the removal of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa from office.
"Mr. Imran Ahmad Khan Niazi, shall continue as Prime Minister till the appointment of caretaker Prime Minister under Article 224 A (4) of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan," Alvi said in a tweet.
Sri Lanka Economic Crisis: Sri Lanka's cabinet resigned en masse from their posts at a late-night meeting on Sunday, deepening the country's economic crisis, education minister Dinesh Gunawardena revealed.
"Considering this a national need, the time has come to work together for the sake of all the citizens and future generations," President Gotabaya Rajapaksa said.
