The Centre on Thursday moved the Supreme Court seeking a review of its November 11 order for the premature release of six convicts in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case, saying it didn’t get adequate opportunity to assist the court despite being a necessary party.
Uniindia: New Delhi, Nov 17 (UNI) The Central government approached the Supreme Court and filed a review petition against the November 11 order allowing the release of all convicts in the former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi assassination case, saying that it didn t get the chance to argue the case and the SC order is legally flawed.
The Union government said the order granting remission to the convicts was passed without affording it adequate opportunity for hearing despite it being a necessary party to the case.
