The Supreme Court on Monday issued notices to the Tamil Nadu government and the Centre on the pleas of Nalini Sriharan and P Ravichandran, convicts, who are serving life imprisonment in connection with the assassination of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, and seeking release from the prison-like fellow convict AG Perarivalan.
The Supreme Court on Monday issued notices to the Centre and the Tamil Nadu government seeking their response to a plea filed by two convicts in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case. The two convicts, Nalini Sriharan and RP Ravichandran, are serving life sentences in the case.
Nalini and Ravichandran have relied on the order passed in favour of AG Perarivalan, another convict in the case who was granted remission earlier this year.
