Janmashtami vrat date 2022: On Janmashtami, devotees observe a day-long fast and break it only at the stroke of 12 (the midnight) with fruits and prasad which is first offered to the Lord.
The festive month of October begins with Sharad Navratri, which this year started on 7th, coinciding with Durga Puja on 11th and finally culminates with Vijayadashami or Dussehra on 15th respectively.
Also known as Vijayadashami, Dussehra marks the end of the nine-day festival of Navratri. This year, the Dussehra will be celebrated on October 15, 2021.
The festival of Janmashtami celebrates the birthday of Lord Krishna, also known by the name Gokulashtami at many places. Amid coronavirus pandemic, celebrations remain low key but, however, that hasn't dampened the spirits of Krishna Bhakts.
