Woman arrested with narcotic substances - Eastern Mirror

Our Correspondent Diphu, Sep. 5 (EMN): A woman was caught with 11 soap cases of suspected narcotic drugs (Brown Sugar) and cash amounting to INR 52,350 at Diphu Railway Station on Monday afternoon. The woman, identified as Sima Das, was heading towards Guwahati from Dimapur. On receiving information the police team from Diphu apprehended the accused with 171.04 gram of suspected narcotic drugs (brown sugar) at Diphu railway station. The operation was headed by Deputy Superintendent of Police, Nahid Karishma.

Two KULA members arrested; one injured in firing

KA Police destroy seized narcotics - Eastern Mirror

Our CorrespondentDiphu, June 25 (EMN):  In observation of the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking on June 26, Karbi Anglong Police destroyed huge quantities of seized narcotic drugs by burning them off at Diphu Sports Complex, 5th Mile Diphu-Manja road on Saturday. The destruction of the seized narcotic drugs was done as per NDPS Act 1985 with due clearance from the State Pollution Control Board and after getting approval from the District Drug Disposal Committee, Karbi Anglong. The quantities of seized drugs destroyed were – heroin 9 kg, cannabis 156.2 kg, opium pod 2813.7 kg, cough syrup 96 bottles and 7,582 tablets. Informing media persons, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Nahid Karishma informed that in the last year, several quantities of narcotic drugs were seized from various places of the district.
