The Delhi Metro and public buses will operate with full seating capacity from today (Monday), while cinema halls, theatres and multiplexes will open with 50 per cent occupancy. The announcement was made by the Delhi Disaster Management Authority on Saturday, as the national capital sees a continued fall in the number of daily coronavirus cases and fatalities.Â
Delhi battled a brutal second wave of the pandemic that claimed a massive number of lives, with the shortage of oxygen at hospitals across the city adding to the distressing situation. On April 20, Delhi had reported 28,395 cases, the highest in the city since the beginning of the pandemic. On April 22, the case positivity rate was 36.2 per cent, the highest so far.

New Delhi [India], July 26 (ANI): After mild tremors were reported at around 6.42 am in the national capital, metro services at many stations were halted and passengers were left stranded on Monday.
The disruption in metro services resulted in long queues at various metro stations in Delhi on Monday.
This comes on a day when the Delhi Metro allowed metro trains to operate with full capacity starting today. Mild tremors were confirmed around 6.42 am (today). As a standard procedure, trains were run on cautionary speed and stationed at next platform. The services are now running normally, said the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).
