Census, no president has ever tried to manipulate the census count in this way. In fact, just two years ago, the Census Bureau reaffirmed its commitment to do the exact opposite of what the president is now trying to do. The bureau committed to counting every person, regardless of citizenship or legal status, under the rules of congress set in the census act of 1790. The president s decision to release this illegal memo, now appears designed to inflict maximum damage to the accuracy of the ongoing 2020 census. In just two weeks, the Census Bureau will start visiting the homes of millions of people who have not, yet, responded to the census. The president s latest attack on immigrants could sow fear and confusion in communities across the country. And could lead many people to decide not to participate. This will hurt communities that are already undercounted, underrepresented, and underfunded. Addressing the chaos caused by the president s memo will drain valuable resources from the Ce
Stay at home or at least stay local. Happening now, parking lots to a number of parks around the city are closed to cut down on crowds. Live with how this might affect your plans to get out of the house this weekend. Good morning. People who show up to state parks by car will see the parking lots are closed. You can see the entrance has been closed as of midnight. All parking lots at state parks are closed as this new wave of parking closures is to prevent what happened last weekend when huge crowds came out to state parks. Its okay to go out for a run or biking or hiking, but encouraging to do those tivities closer tlo rk ls a pedn and bicycle access. Here in San Francisco parking lots that are affected are at ford fundson and ocean beach. Last weekend many people reported seeing big groups at parks and beaches, some upwards of 30 to 40 people having picnics, for example, not following social protocol distancing. These new parking lot closures dont affect San Francisco but state parks

Gomez will follow me with a minute in the same will be given to the Ranking Member. Good morning, thank you to everyone for being here today to discuss a topic which is vital to our democracy for this census. The 2020 census is imminent and accounting set to begin in alaska in less than two weeks and across the country on april 1. The constitution requires every person to be counted, every Single Person living in the United States of america, not just citizens, not just people of a particular Political Party or race but absolutely everyone. I am gravely concerned that the Census Bureau may not be prepared to meet this high bar and that the 2020 census could leave communities across the country undercounted, underrepresented and underfunded. The Government Accountability office and apartment of c
Facing some pretty significant challenges. The first is that we do not have sufficient staffing to realize the benefits of the technology. And the best way i can describe this is i think this thinking was the technology was going to do it for us. And what we are finding is that the technology has incredible potential but it needs bodies to react to the information. So what happened when we moved to the Transportation Management center and the new radio, we were running a call centre. An emergency or incident would come in the controllers would industrial on a piece of paper the key concern, they would dispatch somebody to respond to it. Our goal was to go from a call center to a Service Management center. But a few things happened. The first thing is the call volumes increased. This is very good news. It means it is now easier with the technology for our operatorses to reach the control sent center and to be able to ask for help and support. The second thing is the time for call increa
