The Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested two newly recruited terrorists and four terrorist associates, linked with proscribed terror outfit Lashkar-e- Mustafa (LeM) (the Parent Organization Jaish-e-Mohammed), from South Kashmir s Anantnag district, officials said on Saturday. Arms and ammunition were also recovered from their possession. Acting on a tip-off about a terrorist attack in Anantnag/Bijbehara towns by Lashkar-e-Mustafa (Parent Organization JeM), the police along with 3RR established special checking points at multiple locations and conducted intensified checking. SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir police on Saturday claimed to have two recently recruited militants and four militant associates in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
A police spokesman in a statement said that Police in Anantnag have arrested two newly recruited militants and four militant associates, linked with proscribed outfit LeM/JeM.
“Acting on a specific information regarding the militant attack in Anantnag/ Bijbehara towns by Lashkar-e-Mustafa (Parent Organization JeM), Police along with 3RR established special checking points at multiple locations and conducted intensified checking,” said the spokesman.
“Meanwhile at one of the checkpoints established at Donipora Bijbehera, officers intercepted a vehicle Alto K-10 bearing registration No. HP12C 0981 with two persons on board. They were signalled to stop however, they tried to flee from the spot but the alert joint forces apprehended them tactfully,” he said.
