Srinagar, Jan 31: Two newly recruited terrorists and four terrorist associates of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) and its offshoot Lashkar-e-Mustafa (LeM) were arrested in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, police said.
Acting on specific inputs regarding terrorist attacks being planned in Anantnag and Bijbehara towns by the LeM, the police along with the Army established special checking points at multiple locations and conducted intensive checking, a police spokesperson said.
At one of the checkpoints at Donipora in Bijbehera, officers intercepted a car with two persons onboard. The two tried to flee but were apprehended tactfully by the alert forces, he said.

Anantnag (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], January 30 (ANI): The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday arrested two newly-recruited terrorists and four terrorist associates, linked with proscribed terror outfit Lashker-e-Mustafa (LeM).
As per a statement, the arrest was made based on specific information regarding the terrorist attack in Anantnag/Bijbehara towns by LeM, the parent organisation of Jaish-e-Mohammed.
Arms and explosive substances including two grenades, 30 AK-47 rounds, one kilogram of explosive material, two Pistols along with three magazines and 116 rounds were recovered from their possession. Srinagar, Jan 30 : Two militants who were trapped in a South Kashmir village last evening surrendered this morning after appeals by the security forces and their families while security forces busted a militant module in Anantnag district and arrested two militants and four Over Ground Workers (OWGs).
The two militants who surrendered were trapped by security forces in Batpora, Lelhar village of Kakapora area in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district last evening.
Inspector General of Police of Kashmir, Vijay Kumar, said that one of the militants who surrendered was found injured and immediately shifted to police hospital Srinagar for treatment where his condition is stated to be stable. The two militants surrendered along with two AK 47 rifles.
