Petersburg Symphony Orchestra is presenting a free community concert this
Sunday, May 16th at the Beacon Theatre in Hopewell. Sponsored by the City of Hopewell, the program begins at 4:00pm and includes performances by the PSO String Quartet, PSO Woodwind Quintet and the Bonefire Trombone Choir.
Executive Director Sharon Jadrnak, Music Director Ulysses Kirksey, bassoonist Archer Johnson and trombonist Charles Newton joined me for discussion about the offerings by each ensemble.

Friday for the Arts! festival organizers hope winter-weather threat doesn t freeze them out
February s festival is set to highlight Black History Month with music performances and an art show. However, anticipated snow and freezing rain on Friday could dampen the spirits of the show.

In spite of COVID-19, Petersburg’s Friday for the Arts! on February 12 will bring us music, art, fun activities, food, new beers, and abundant good spirits. There will be music in two performing arts venues, and great exhibits at the Petersburg Area Art League [PAAL], as well as a Friday Funday macramé project at Old Towne Studio 7.
