Little Buddy s BBQ restaurant with the tagline Q Is What We Do will be opening this summer in both Petersburg and McKenney.
The area s newest restaurateur Scott Johnson has many family members to thank for his culinary skills: father Jack Johnson, late mother Sarah Johnson, late grandmother Annie Hawkins, cousin Doris Dowdy, and aunt Etta Bailey.
Johnson s inspiration I love barbecue, and while my son was in the NICU a week after he was born, I watched all the parents that were there with their kids and the nursing staff that was there and realized that people were there for long hours without eating, said Johnson of Chesterfield. I started thinking that someone should be bringing them food so that s one less thing they have to worry about.

HOPEWELL - Downtown Thunder Cruise-In is scheduled to take place this Thursday night behind the historic Beacon Theatre on Appomattox Street.
Hundreds of motorcyclists will roll into Downtown Hopewell on Appomattox Street to share their “pride & joy” rides with the community. The roar of the engines brings energy and you have to see the amazing cars, boasted presenters Hopewell Downtown Partnership. There is music and food and everyone has a great time on these summer nights.
The event once held in Old Towne Petersburg was created with the idea that Downtown Thunder attendees will patronize local businesses.
