I am a Museum Specialist and cocurator of the slave freedom exhibition, which is one of three exhibitions here in the history museum. We actually have three exhibitions in this gallery, and those exhibitions cover 15th century africa and europe all the way through today. The history of trenton, new jersey. Long history. S a for the united states, it is very old. It was founded in 1679. An important part in the American Revolution, then a long part in the industrial revolution. There are a lot of great thats what makes trenton special. It was a mix of old and new is what makes cities great. Thee took a driving tour of city with architect and Trenton Historical Society member john hatch. We are just going to head up to the corner then you will make a left. These barracks were built for the french and indian war, the building was built in 1758. There were i think three other barracks built in new jersey but it human one that is still in existence. Now its a museum, a great museum. They do reenactments in the front courtyard, including musket fire. [laughter] if you are not used to it that can because for concern, my office is right across the street so we hear it all the time. And right here on the sidewalk a daily reminder of the Violent Crimes here in the city. Another crime scene. Ironically the man taken to the hospital with 11 gun shot wounds was shot on the watch of not one but two crime cameras set up by electronic billboard that says cram in use in this area. Do you thing the signs are deter excellent no they dont mean nothing to this Younger Generation out here and evidence of that today when they shot right in front of two cameras, two crime cameras in the middle of the block. Theres more gun violence and with that, that is a cry to me that Something Else needs to be done in order to get guns off our street in southeast.
