Morning, but ahead, a beautiful day. Thank you so much for starting your saturday morning with us. Im kira klapper. Meteorologist vianey arana joins us with a quick check of our microclimate forecast and that includes rain on the way for tomorrow. Hey, vianey. Hey there, kira. Yeah, this is sort of a calm before the storm, right . Were going to be seeing great conditions today. Notice the regional temperatures right now pretty good for San Francisco 50s, pretty normal for this time of year. We have enjoyed some comfortable weather, but as we head into tomorrow, that is all going to change. If we advance to the next graphic we can see the a chance of seeing widespread rain, something that is not very normal for the month of september, and with that, we could even see anywhere from about a tenth of an inch to possibly a quarter, maybe even a half an inch. So it will be interesting to see the timing of this, how much rain were going to get and the temperatures and the wind impacts heading
You can get the good vibrations going. But that seems to be going against a warning by ed lee aim ed at bar and restaurant owners. He wants them to limit beverage sales during the super bowl action. Christie smith is live in San Francisco where she talked to some of those bartenders and patrons. Im sure theyre not in love with this idea. Yeah, bartenders are offering up all sort of food and drink ideas. 49er themed of course. They are getting very creative and are very excited about super bowl sunday. Some are saying they may even offer up free shots every time that the 49ers get a touchdown. Thats what were hearing may be happening. This is a far cry from what San Francisco mayor ed lee was talking about just a couple of days ago when he was thinking it might be best to limit serving up bar and alcohol on super bowl sunday. Lee of course trying to prevent a repeat of the type of vandalism after the giants won the world series. Not a ban, but an idea to serve responsibly. Patrons said
He was last seen at oak and mesonic talking to a man. That location is just two blocks from where they are now searching. Neighbors say they remember the highprofile abduction 28 years ago. It was very odd that no one had seen anything or couldnt recall anything, and i think the neighborhood would be very happy to know the case is solved now. Reporter we do have some video from 1984 of the search effort for collins. The 10yearold was one of the first missing children to appear on a milk carton. The case and child abduction gained national attention. Here in San Francisco police searched and posted flyers while they followed leads. Collins was never found. Now it appears there is a break in the old case. Sfpd serving a search warrant digging a hole, and recovering bones, bones that are now being examined by the medical Examiners Office as sfpd continues to search for answers about where Kevin Collins is some 28 years later. Reporting live in San Francisco, jean elle, nbc bay area news.
Of the 49ers, he had that little start of an idea to be a coach back when he was an nfl quarterback and aside from his parents, lets have a look at a man who was a big influence in his life. He talked about him today. By now were all familiar with the jim harbaugh sideline theatrics. They happen most every sunday. But there was a time when the tables were turned. Remember when harbaugh quarterbacked the Chicago Bears very early in his career he had one of the toughest mentors imaginable, his head coach iron mike ditka and jim harbaugh has been on the receiving end of his rage. He talked this morning. A lot of great years. A lot of great games. High highs. Doesnt get any better than this kind of feeling. And yeah, some lifes big disappointments. Theres a couple in there that are top five in my life. Thats football. What did it mean to me the shape of the rest of my life with the Chicago Bears organization and the people i met there and what it did for me, enormous. It was good except th
