Timothy Morton: "This Is Hell, It's Not the End of the World" Organized in conjunction with the exhibition "Santiago Sierra: 52 Canvases Exposed to Mexico City’s Air," Timothy Morton, Rita Shea Guffey Chair in English at Rice University and director of the Cool America Foundation, will give a talk to celebrate the publication of their book "Hell: In Search of a Christian Ecology" (Columbia University Press, 2024), which explores the relationship between religion and ecology in response to the climate crisis.
Carondelet Historical Society Auction Carondelet Historical Society will be hosting a silent auction May 1- May 5. Items being auctioned include 1904 World’s Fair post cards and Singer Sewing Machine advertisements. The auction will take plan on-site at CHS. Raffle tickets for the Saint Louis World’s Fair book (1904) will be available for purchase during the auction; the winning ticket will be drawn on Sunday, May 5 at 3:30pm. Various items from 1904 will be given as attendance prizes every 30 minutes on the final day of the auction.
