During the inspection of the bridge, it was decided that the ramp at platform no.1 and staircase at platform no. 2 and no. 3 will be closed for the safety of passengers, Western Railway said in a notification.

MUMBAI: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation(BMC) will spend around Rs 6.3 crore for constructing a brand new steel foot over bridge (FOB) at the site of the Himalaya bridge that crashed in March 2019. The bridge will take 15 months to complete and the BMC is expecting work to begin by the end of May or early June.
According to BMC officials, the stainless steel bridge will be more durable and will not rust in the sultry sea breeze of Mumbai. “The new FoB will be 28.50 meters in length and 4.40 meters in width.
