Rains in Mumbai Today: IMD has forecast heavy to very heavy rains in six districts of Maharashtra, issuing an 'orange alert'. For Thursday, the IMD has issued a yellow alert for Mumbai, indicating heavy rainfall at isolated places, and an orange alert for Thane, Palghar and Raigad, indicating heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places. Kerala rains: According to figures provided by the Kerala State Disaster Management Authority (KSDMA), water in six dams of which four are in Idukki under the control of Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) are at red alert levels and in one at orange alert level.
After a dry spell in June, heavy rainfall in most parts of Maharashtra in July has more than doubled the collective water stock in dams across the state within a span of a fortnight.
IMD has issued an orange alert as Mumbai and Maharashtra and several other regions of Maharashtra is ready to witness heavy rainfall in the coming days.
