Johannesburg - Lebeko Mphelo, founder of payment solutions company Whoosh Innovations, is one of the eight beneficiaries of the MultiChoice Innovation Fund.
His entrepreneurship skills have always been with him as he grew up selling something or other to make some money.
“There was always that yearning to really participate in the entrepreneurial journey.
“I worked in corporate and I left after an opportunity to have a stake in a farming business somewhere else.”
This was after doing several projects for other people, including launching the Tshwane WifiTV and helping a Portuguese company set up in South Africa.

What does an online delivery service, a payment solutions provider, an online publication and a film and television production company have in common? Young and passionate entrepreneurs funded by the MultiChoice Innovation Fund.
This support was crucial during the past year’s Covid-related challenges. The fund provided much-needed financial support to the eight beneficiaries, all black majority-owned small businesses, which helped them to create 47 new jobs.
Some of the companies that have been added to the growing list of MultiChoice Innovation Fund beneficiaries include: Bubblegum Club: Born as a cultural intelligence agency, it has grown into a digital publication and a content production studio.
