Speaking to WION s Principal Diplomatic Correspondent Sidhant Sibal, Ambassador Masud lauded India s Vaccine diplomacy, saying, India has made available not only to Bangladesh but also to other Neighbours, as part of the Neighbourhood first policy of India and we are deeply appreciative of this.
India earlier this month gifted 2 million COVID-19 vaccines to Bangladesh. From 20 January 2021 onwards, New Delhi has gifted over 55 lakh doses of vaccines to its 9 countries part of its neighbourhood and extended neighbourhood.

Transgender people have expressed joy and gratitude after getting homes as a gift from the government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Some 20 members of the transgender community, also known as Hijra, have received rooms at Hatikumrul in Sirajganj on Friday as part of the government’s initiative to rehabilitate the homeless and landless people during the Mujib Barsho, the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
This was part of the rehabilitation campaign for the vulnerable people under the Asrayan Prokolpo’s second phase under which 3,715 families were provided shelters in 743 barracks at 36 upazilas in 21 districts during the ‘Mujib Year’.

Country’s top female weightlifter Mabia Akhter Simanta on Saturday said that she was working hard to regain her fitness and improve her performance ahead of Bangabandhu Bangladesh Games.
“I was out of training for a long time during COVID-19. A weightlifter can t maintain fitness at home. The good thing is I have started practising now and trying hard to regain my fitness and improve my performance levels. Hopefully, I will get fit before the Games,” Mabia told The Daily Sun.
The 9th edition of the country s biggest multi-sports event Bangabandhu Games has been rescheduled on April 1 to 10 this year.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is fulfilling the dreams of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman as her government provided houses for 66,189 homeless and landless families across the country on Saturday under the Ashrayan-2 Project.
The premier inaugurated the house handover ceremony virtually from Ganabhaban in the capital. People from 492 upazilas of the country were connected with the ceremony.
She termed the distribution of the houses as the biggest festival of the countrymen in the Mujib Year.
“It’s the biggest festival today. There is no such big festival for the countrymen, like giving homes to the landless and homeless people,” she said.
