For years, families renting mobile homes in Mountain View have missed out on protections afforded to those living in apartments and other multifamily units, including relocation assistance when they get evicted.
Blaze ravages Lehigh Township mobile home, fire official says

A swift-moving blaze tore through a mobile home Sunday in Lehigh Township,completely destroying the structure, a fire official said.
The initial call came in at 4:10 a.m. to the Mountain View Mobile Home Park. Lehigh Township Volunteer Fire Co. Chief Rick Hildebrand said the fire was fully involved by the time firefighters arrived at the park. All occupants managed to escape safely and there were no reported injuries, Hildebrand said.
Crews didn’t clear the scene until 8 a.m. Sunday. Several neighboring fire companies helped to bring the blaze under control.
For years, Mountain View s mobile home residents have waged a legal battle to extend the city s rent control law to its six mobile home parks. Now it will be a political battle that banks on city leaders to limit rent increases.
