There was an alert sent out about an hour and a half ago warning of a suspect to the Champion Center armed with a machete. Folks that are once gym is live on campus he will have an update on that very fluid breaking news. Its good out to a News Conference getting underway as we speak. Everything on campus is normal operations with the exception of the Champion Center we still have a lot of Law Enforcement personnel there. Theyll be there the rest of day. We would ask everybody to avoid the Champion Center area for the rest of the day. 9 15 this morning a 911 call from the Champion Center the report was a man who was menacing with a machete. Building. Officers with boulder and Campus Police arrived on scene. They repeateddedly demanded that the man put down the weapon. He did not. Two officers, one from each responding agency fired shots. That man was killed. Nobody else on campus was injured. We dont know the identity of that suspect. Now to what police are calling an active harmer situation that happened around 1 00 this afternoon.
