Manton woman awaiting arraignment on weapons offense

MARION — A 33-year-old Manton woman is awaiting arraignment in Osceola County s 77th District Count after she was alleged to be carrying a concealed weapon in her car. At 5:20 p.m. on April 25, troopers from the Mount Pleasant Michigan State Police Post were working a traffic safety initiative on M-115 near 18 Mile Road in Osceola County s Highland Township when they stopped an SUV traveling southeast for speeding, according to a press release from the post. The SUV driven by the Manton woman was traveling 94 mph in a 55 mph zone, police said. The subsequent investigation led to the woman s arrest for carrying a concealed weapon, a pistol, on her person in the SUV. Police said the woman also was driving on a suspended license and had multiple outstanding warrants out for her arrest. The Manton woman was released from the scene and given an appearance ticket, according to Osceola County Prosecutor Tony Badovinac.

Police asking for information regarding missing Mecosta Co man

MOUNT PLEASANT — Police are looking for the public s help locating a 70-year-old man who was last seen in Mecosta County s Wheatland Township. An Endangered Missing Advisory was released Monday morning for Richard Lee Wymer. He was last seen at 10 a.m. Sunday shoveling his driveway on the 7000 block of 10th Avenue in Wheatland Township. Wymer is described as a white male, 6 2 in height, approximately 240 pounds with gray/silver shoulder-length hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a flannel coat, a light brown stocking hat, blue jeans and green boots. Police also said he has a tattoo on his upper left arm of a lion lifting weights.

MSP arrest 3 people after in Isabella Co traffic stop

MOUNT PLEASANT — Troopers from the Mount Pleasant Michigan State Police Post arrested three people Thursday after a traffic stop revealed they allegedly were driving in a stolen vehicle, possessed concealed weapons and drugs. At 10:30 p.m. Thursday troopers performed the traffic stop on a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on U.S. 127 near Broomfield Road in Isabella County s Union Township. After a brief investigation, the trooper found the suspect vehicle was stolen and the three individuals in the vehicle were removed, according to police. Upon searching the three people and vehicle, police said the trooper found an illegally concealed firearm and suspected methamphetamine. The driver, a 44-year-old Manton man, was arrested for illegally possessing a concealed weapon, while a 34-year-old Lake City woman and a 42-year-old Jackson woman were both arrested for possession of methamphetamine, according to police.
