After defeating Giga Bowser and completing the game, some new challenges will appear in the playable world of
Bowser’s Fury. At each of the three Giga Bells, you’ll find a crying cat that’s lost her kittens. Each location is trickier than the last, and finding all the lost kittens at each spot will earn you a Shine for a total of three shines. This is one of the harder challenges waiting for Mario in the post-game, so we’ve got all the locations you need.
One of the most annoying aspects of this challenge is Giga Bowser. When he appears, all cats will go feral and attack! That includes any cats your’ trying to save, making it impossible to bring them back safely. You’ll have to patiently wait for Bowser to go away before you can complete your mini-quest. Personally, I recommend just going as fast as possible which you can do with these screenshots and locations.

After beating Giga Bowser and getting the ending credits in Bowser’s Fury, you’ll be able to explore a “new” island it’s really just the level you started your adventure from, but with a few extra Shines to grab. One of those shines is related to a mini-quest with Toadette. You’ll find her camp near the crashed armada ship approaching will reveal there are four lost toads.
And these toads aren’t anywhere near Toadette’s location. They can be literally anywhere on the map, so finding them is a real pain. There are only four of them, but some are hidden under levels, in secret alcoves, or at the top of tall peaks. We’ve got screenshots and text to help you find them all and get closer to 100% completion.
marked on your map. Press [
–] to see all the Shine locations and travel to each. If you can’t reach them, you may need to wait until Giga Bowser appears for a path to form.
After getting the credits once, the new
Lucky Shine Island will spawn whenever Giga Bowser appear the island is bright gold, and spawns in one of several locations. Check your map when Giga Bowser attacks and the location will be lit-up. Usually you’ll need to use a ramp to reach the island. There are 5 Shines on the island, and it disappears each time you collect a Shine. Collect all 5 to complete this mini-event you’ll have to visit the island (and its random location) 5 times.
Bowser’s Fury, the super-weird little bonus game included in Super Mario 3D World on Nintendo Switch. Bowser is defeated, but you’ll gain access to one more little extra level once you return to the lake. We won’t call this a secret level. Really, it’s just the level you start the game in but now you can get the other four shines!
And it’s all the same challenges. There are Shine Shards to find, Bower Blocks to break, and a Fury Shadow to smash. One of the challenges is a little stranger than the rest you’ll need to find a specific graffiti spot and use Bowser Jr. on it. If you’ve been neglecting Bowser Jr. you just might need a little help with this one.

Roiling Roller Isle is an optional end-game level and one of the trickiest in the game for a very simple reason. Instead of walking around on dry land, you’ll have to get Mario to sprint through spinning platforms. This ain’t
Mario Galaxy if you’re on the wrong edge of the roller, you’ll fall into lava. If you’ve got the right power-ups, this level is way easier.
To earn all the shines, you’ll have to explore every rectangular edge of the map. There are shine shards hidden in secret alcoves, between rollers, and on hard-to-reach edges. Then you’ll have to go up and back down the entire stage with a key or sprint through an obstacle course in record time. You’ll find the Bowser Blocks easily though. They’re literally right next to the entrance.
