The Mount Carmel City Council held their 2nd March session on Monday. Everyone was present with the exception to Commissioner Dulgar, who joined over Zoom. The board received an update from the Kiwanis Club. The Club mentioned the idea of having a circus for 4 shows April 22nd and 23rd in town instead of just 2 shows on April 22nd. The board was the presentation from Keystone via zoom on a Solar Project for the Wastewater Project Plant. Keystone mentioned during the project that if approved, the city would be responsible for purchasing the electricity at a discounted rate from solar installed by Keystone and not the upfront cost of installing the panels. The city would also have buyout options in 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 of the agreement. Ron Peach appeared before the board in reference to river lot rental for $100 per lot. There are several civic meetings on tap for tonight. The Mount Carmel City Council has a light agenda for their meeting this afternoon. They will meet at 4 PM at Mount Carmel City Hall. The standard council reports will come in. The council under new business will look to donate a squad car to WEMA and look at a resolution. The Flora City Council is set to meet this afternoon at 4:30 at Flora City Hall. On the agenda, the council will look to make a purchase with Clay Group Limited Partnership, have an agreement in place for services with Fehr Graham and Associates, look into a special ordinance authorizing the ceding of private activity bonding authority, and work on an item with B & H Recycling. The board will also look at hiring a new telecommunicator for the police department, plus go through the standard communications reports.
