Hefajat-e-Islam s former joint secretary general Mamunul Haque and Rafiqul Islam Madani, widely known as Shishu Bokta , were sent to jail today on completion of their remand. They were produced before a Dhaka court in three cases filed with Motijheel and Paltan police stations over the recent violence in the capital.
Mamunul was produced before the court on completion of his two-day remand in the case filed with Paltan Police Station over the recent violence in Dhaka cenering Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi s visit on March 26.

A resident of Gopibagh, the 50-year old victim, Sunita Rani Das, worked as a cleaner at a house there.
Deputy Commissioner Nurul Islam of Motijheel Police said the incident occurred around 6am on Wednesday near Motijheel Bus Depot.
“They yanked the woman’s bag away from a private car. She then fell down from the rickshaw. She died in the afternoon after being taken to hospital.”
Sunita, accompanied by her nephew, were on their way to Shantinagar from her residence at Gopibagh. She was taken to Mugda General Hospital and from there to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

A Dhaka court will virtually hear on April 22 the petition submitted to show Rafiqul Islam Madani, widely known as Shishu Bokta , arrested in a case filed under the Digital Security Act.
The court will also hear the 10-day remand prayer the same day, an official of the General Recording Office at the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate s Court confirmed to The Daily Star.
Metropolitan Magistrate Abu Sufiyan Md Noman today fixed the date and sent a virtual link to the jail authorities of Kashimpur High Security Jail who are the custodians of Madani.
