Deputy Commissioner Nurul Islam of Motijheel Police said the incident occurred around 6am on Wednesday near Motijheel Bus Depot. “They yanked the woman’s bag away from a private car. She then fell down from the rickshaw. She died in the afternoon after being taken to hospital.” Sunita, accompanied by her nephew, were on their way to Shantinagar from her residence at Gopibagh. She was taken to Mugda General Hospital and from there to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Woman in Dhaka’s Kamalapur dies after fall from rickshaw while getting mugged Sunita Rani Das Star Digital Report Star Digital Report A woman died after she fell from a rickshaw as muggers from a private car pulled her bag in Dhaka s Kamalapur area early this morning. The deceased Sunita Rani Das (50), a resident of Gopibagh area, was a cleaner at the Buddhist temple in Mugda area. The incident occurred around 6:00am when the victim along with her nephew was heading towards the temple on a rickshaw. As the rickshaw went near BRTC bus depot, muggers from a private car pulled her bag so hard that she fell on the road and suffered severe head injury, said victim s son Sumon Chandra Das.
