Cent percent people in flood affected districts get cash support: CPD

DHAKA, Dec 13, 2020 (BSS) – Around 80.6 percent people of the flood affected districts in this year got GR rice as food assistance while cent percent people of those flood affected districts received cash support, said a research of the Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD).
The research findings were revealed at a virtual dialogue titled “Relief Programme to face COVID-19, Flood and Agriculture Stimulus: Effectiveness of Government Services” held today organized jointly by the CPD, Oxfam in Bangladesh and European Union (EU).
During the virtual dialogue, an initial evaluation report was highlighted featuring the relief programme to face COVID-19, Flood in the haor region including in Netrakona and the effectives of government services towards distributing agriculture stimulus.

This paper shares the results of a study that sought to understand the current role of media in relation to the Sustainable Development Goals (SGDs) in an effort to strengthen the role the media can play in the successful implementation of the SDGs in Bangladesh. Published by the Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD), the report is based on a mapping exercise covering SDG-related media content (those that explicitly mention SDGs) published in selected print and online media in Bangladesh between July 2015 and December 2018, as well as a literature review and interviews with media professionals.
