Bangladesh will get two million doses of Covid-19 vaccine from India as gift in addition to the purchased ones from the Serum Institute India (SII).
The gift jab will arrive in the country tomorrow, said Prof Dr ABM Khurshid Alam, director general of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), on Monday.
Meanwhile, without mentioning the quantity, Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque said the Indian government will send some vaccine doses to Bangladesh as gift.
While speaking at the ‘Meet the Reporters’ event organised by Dhaka Reporters’ Unity (DRU) at its auditorium, he declined to disclose the date of the arrival of the jab, saying they expect the vaccine will arrive soon.
