MOSES LAKE The Moses Lake Mavericks defeated Eisenhower on Saturday 59-23, improving their overall record to 9-10.
Head Coach Matt Strophy said he was very pleased with their performance throughout the game. The Mavericks held complete control of the first half, ending the second quarter with a score of 33-3.
“We talked about setting the tone early and we did that,” Strophy said. “I think defensively we really were dialed in.”
MOSES LAKE – The Moses Lake Mavericks had eight first-place finishes at last week’s Columbia Basin Big 9 district meet, guiding the Mavs to a districts win in their home pool.
“I’m just so proud of the girls,” Moses Lake coach Jason Hart said. “They all contributed, it was all important.”
MOSES LAKE – Friday night’s game was yet another strong showing for the Moses Lake Mavericks, who improved to 8-0 with a 47-12 win over West Valley (Yakima) on senior night.
MOSES LAKE – A slow start in the first quarter was quickly shaken off by the Moses Lake Mavericks on Friday night, who improved to 6-0 after a 59-14 win over Davis.
“We feel good,” Moses Lake coach Brett Jay said. “It’s two games in a row we’ve had a slow first half, so that gets to us a little bit, but we went back to our fundamentals and that helped us have a solid second half. We’re seeing some different looks each week, which is interesting (because it’s different) than what we’ve seen on tape, so we’re just going to keep taking what they give us. I’m proud of the way we finished tonight.” .
MOSES LAKE – Despite a late surge, the Moses Lake Mavericks fell 3-1 at home to Davis on Tuesday, the team’s second-straight loss in league play after beginning the year 3-0 in the Big 9.
“We had a good practice (Monday) and watched a lot of film, so we knew what Davis was going to have,” Moses Lake Head Coach Krystal Trammell said. “We felt confident but not overly confident, we don’t overlook anyone. We just had a lot of unforced errors tonight, that’s what it was.” .
