COLUMBIA BASIN – More than 200 local athletes earned all-league honors during the fall sports season, ranging from honorable mentions to players of the year. Read along to see what awards athletes from all 12 local schools earned this fall sports season.
MOSES LAKE – The Moses Lake girls swim and dive team clinched a top-10 finish at the 4A State Swimming and Diving Championships in Federal Way for the third-straight season last weekend, finishing sixth in the state with 128 points.
Moses Lake placed fourth last season and seventh in 2021.
MOSES LAKE Moses Lake senior Issabelle Parrish is leaving an impact in her final season in the pool for the Mavericks.
Parrish has already knocked off several school records in short-distance swims, and now aims to keep the momentum going as many members of the Maverick girls swim and dive team head to state this week.
“I had a pretty good junior year, so I was excited to see what I could do this year and see what our team as a whole could do – especially our relay, and see where we’re at with the rest of the state,” Parrish said.
MOSES LAKE – The Moses Lake Mavericks had eight first-place finishes at last week’s Columbia Basin Big 9 district meet, guiding the Mavs to a districts win in their home pool.
“I’m just so proud of the girls,” Moses Lake coach Jason Hart said. “They all contributed, it was all important.”
