The medical community is shining a light on stem cells and their use to treat a variety of conditions. Doctors in the Tampa Bay area are sharing the innovative ways stem cell treatments could dramatically change lives.
âStem cells are the building blocks of life,â said Dr. Leslie Miller.
Through the years, research continues into the use of stem cells.
âStem cells are actually what we call it as pluripotent cells in the body, which itâs basically kind of cells which can actually regenerate multiple times. They donât even die, and they can actually differentiate into various forms of cells in your body,â said Dr. Deepak Chellapandian.

Pinellas County Commissioners, activists and others whoâve agonized over the fate of these 44 acres watched on Thursday evening as Dunedin officials signed a mock deed to celebrate the cityâs official purchase of the land for a public park.
Man who died after he was found floating off Clearwater Beach identified
Investigators identified the man as Douglas Wright, 60, of Clearwater.

CLEARWATER â A man was found unresponsive in the water off northern Clearwater Beach Sunday and died at a local hospital, police said.
A Clearwater Fire and Rescue crew was called to the 1000 block of Eldorado Avenue where the man was floating in the water about 6 p.m., according to Clearwater police. The man was brought ashore and taken to Morton Plant Hospital, where was pronounced dead, police said.
