   A project by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources to restore the area around Morse Lake is now about at mid point.   The work began about two years ago with the lowering of the water level in the lake to get rid of invasive fish such as carp and bullhead. According to T.J. Herrick, wildlife biologist at the DNR office in Clear Lake, this has been accomplished. The water level is now about five feet lower than normal.     “Now we need wet weather to refill the lake,” he said. “Then we will restock it with desireable fish. I know it looks ugly now. It will probably take a couple of years before it all comes together. When we are finished, the south end of the lake should be very inviting for visitors, the way it was years ago.”
