VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. Two Girl Scouts from Virginia Beach are being awarded the National Medal of Honor Lifesaving Award from Girl Scouts USA.
Morgan Harvey, a freshman at Virginia Tech, and Gabriella Gonzalez, a senior at Cox High School, were part of a crew of people who saved the life of their rowing club team coach Dr. Mark Winters.
The award is given to Girl Scouts who perform a heroic effort to save or attempt to save a life. Teens from Virginia Beach and Norfolk troops earned the recognition.
