MARTINSVILLE 4th of July weekend festivities kicked into high gear on Saturday with the Indiana Spirit of 45 s second Independence Day parade.
The parade featured a number of local figures and groups, including Rob Helms of BIGG Country as the parade marshal.
The beginning of the parade featured renditions of the National Anthem, God Bless America and Taps.
Other parade participants included Martinsville Mayor Kenny Costin and his family, American Legion Post 230 Riders, Morgan County Sheriff Rich Myers, Martinsville Chief of Police John Richards, Morgan County History Museum, Little Rascals Pet Rescue and the Martinsville Crime Watch.

CAMBY, Ind. (AP) - One person died Wednesday morning after a grain bin collapsed in central Indiana, authorities said.
The man was loading grain around 8 a.m. when a holding bin collapsed and the grain fell on him just southwest of Indianapolis, Morgan County Sheriff Rich Myers said.
Indianapolis firefighters and other first responders went to the scene, but the man was pronounced dead after being extricated from debris, WRTV-TV reported.
