GOP Rep. Mo Brooks Defends Fiery Speech Before Capitol Attack: We Were Depressed

GOP Representative Mo Brooks was the keynote speaker at a Free the Speech rally in Priceville, Alabama, Saturday, despite numerous demands for his resignation over a fiery speech he gave to President Donald Trump s supporters just before the January 6 U.S. Capitol attack.
The Morgan County Republican Executive Committee organized the rally at a Fredricks Outdoor store, which saw at least one former GOP representative urging attendees to start another [political] party since the abandoning of Trump by Republicans. Brooks, who several lawmakers said should resign or be censured over his January 6 remarks, defended the talk as one of the best rally speeches he s ever given.

PRICEVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) - The Morgan County Republican Executive Committee with Fredricks Outdoor in Priceville is hosting a Free Speech Rally with keynote speaker Alabama Congressman Mo Brooks.
Fredricks Outdoor President and Treasurer for the Morgan County Republican Executive Committee Tom Fredricks is excited for the event.
“We’re proud to say Mo Brooks is our congressman and we want him to bask in the limelight,” Fredricks said.
Local leaders from both political parties share what a second impeachment may mean
Members from each party believe the riots in the Capitol is causing the possibility of a second impeachment.

In North Alabama, leaders from local parties are reacting to the idea of a second impeachment.
If the House votes to impeach President Trump, he will be the first president to be impeached twice. WAAY 31 spoke with a member from both parties about the possibility of impeachment proceedings and the message they believe it s sending.
“I think the whole intent of this other than to just kind of kick him as he goes out the door is to say, ‘hey, you know, you could be a threat to us, we want to close that door permanently, said Tom Fredricks, Treasurer of Morgan County Republican Executive Committee.
