ABACO, BAHAMAS More than a year after Hurricane Dorian, power has returned to all of mainland Abaco, according to Bahamas Power and Light (BPL).
In an update released yesterday, BPL said it was “pleased to announce that all of mainland Abaco is now powered from two sites Coopers Town Power Station (CTPS) and Wilson City Power Station (WCPS)”.
“CTPS is now energizing overhead lines from Crown Haven to Leisure Lee,” the company said.
“On January 21, Red Bay Subdivision became the last mainland settlement to have power (or access to power).
“It should be noted that the power is now available and accessible across the mainland [but] it is up to customers and the Ministry of Works to ensure that customers are able to connect to the power that is now available.”
