controllers falling asleep on the job. tonight questions answered about your safety and the changes being made. good evening i m vic carter. and i m denise koch. and tonight the chief of the air traffic control system reseened. reporter: the faa is making big changes and cracking down. the faa says an air traffic controller at the reno air base was sleeping on the job. at no time and i want to stress, at no time was safety compromised. reporter: the reno flight landed with assistance from air traffic controllers in california. the air traffic association is outraged. i believe this is an outrageous situation that will not fly through on my watch. reporter: several sleeping controller incidents have been accounted for this week. the faa now promises to put new overnight controllers. still passengers seem split about what to do about the controller who fell asleep in reno. you have too many lives at stake. for something like that i would recommend for him to
