Reporter dobb knee immediately called 911. Police say the girl had been sexually assaulted by 39 year old malik bailey. A Family Member who came into her bedroom while she slept. Investigators say he forced her to the basement where the attack continued before she was able to escape. She said she was yelling for her mother during the assault and got no response at all. I would have to imagine the mother would respond. Reporter police say the mom couldnt answer her daughters cry for help. Bailey first brutally beat the 38yearold woman in her second floor bedroom. How severe she was beaten on her head. Reporter police were able to get into the home initially. They crawled on to neighbors roof thats when they spotted the mom bleeding from her head through a window. Squat was called in for fear bailey was still in the house. Nbc 10 at 16th and mckeen streets where the incident happened just before midnight. The firefighters couldnt tell us what the electrical problem was, but there were no Power Outages in the area, but you can see there was quite a scene and police had to cordon offnc9c paf the street. The steamy night has given way to a very hot and humid morning and just over my shoulder you see that the stage hands are setting up here, we did check to see if anyone has canceled their participation in this 5k run and walk because of the heat advisory. We were told no. Now, here is video from when we arrived a short time ago. We found contractors setting up annual boxers trail 5k here at manneder playground. The run and walk will weave through Fairmount Park where mohammed ali and joe frazier once trained. This coincides with the tenth annual Strawberry Mansion Day Community festival. Organizers tell us that the festivities here, they have a short program, get under way about 9 00 and then they hope to launch the 5k about 9 30.
