Bart workers are going to be doing some maintenance jobs on the tracks near the transbay tube. They are going to be repairing and replacing rails near the tubes west oakland station entrance. That station is going to be closed completely. Buses will then run between San Franciscos embarcadero station and the 19th street station in downtown oakland. This Maintenance Work has been long overdue and the shutdown raises questions as to how long it will take to build the second one. The deputies are in the same jail where this alleged crime is alleged to have happened. The correctional deputies are named jerry lubrin, matthew fe a ferris. The man died in his jail cell. He was badly beaten with lacerations to some of his intern internal organs. Some observers are surprised with how fast the sheriff moved in making the arrests. He was on the sixth floor of the jail reserved for gang members and inmates in protective custody. He did not have a cell mate and was about to be transferred to a treatment facility. For the last week, the guards were making a routine welfare check when they noticed he was unresponsive and called paramedics. The three guards face three felonies. They could spend the rest of their lives in prison. I am told that the correctional deputies are here at the main jail. They will be transferred into another facility for their safety and security at some point either today or later on this week. Im told that later today, the coroner will be here at

As for suspect 3, he is being held here without bail. Live in downtown san jose, kiet do, kpix 5. Oakland police are looking for a suspect who killed a man yesterday afternoon at 4 30. The suspect began shooting outside a home near 23rd street and mlk in west oakland. Then the suspect went inside to deliver the final blow. Police say the motive is unknown. Were trying to identify any possible information, any possible leads, anything that we can to help try to identify what happened here. Police say the victim was 30 years old and lived in the home. They have not released the mans name. Investigators would like to know what happened inside a Santa Clara County jail that left an inmate dead. Michael james tyree found dead in his cell at the main jail last thursday. The mercury news reports there was some kind of confrontation with correctional officers. Three of them are now on leave.
