Action Movie with Alec Baldwin to be Filmed in Billings

What is being described as an epic disaster action movie by The Hollywood Reporter, will be filmed on location in Montana beginning next month, and producers are looking for extras. According to the post on the Montana Film Office Facebook page, the feature film Supercell starring Alec Baldwin will film in Billings from May 6 through May 20, and they are still needing extras for the film that preferably have SUVs, pickups or other stormchasing style vehicles. Get our free mobile app The day rate for movie extras is $64 for an 8-hour day, plus overtime, according to the Montana Film Office. Producers for the movie Supercell are also looking for an Asian male around 20 years old for a key background / extra role, according to the Montana Film Office.

Recipients of the Big Sky Film Grant were announced recently by the Montana Department of Commerce. The productions are to film at locations across Montana. The projects have a total estimated production cost of almost $126 million and it is believed they will spend nearly $72 million in Montana, officials said. Forty-two projects requested more than $5 million in grant dollars this year, with $500,000 available through the grant for fiscal year 2021.

MONTANA - The Montana Film Office awarded a total of $500,000 in grants to 14 films that will be shot on location across the state. The office estimated these projects will spend $72 million in Montana while filming.  The projects cover a wide range of themes such as, a documentary about issues tribal women face, a feature film about a Montana MMA fighter and an educational series for children featuring music and animation.  They ll be shot all throughout the state, from Hamilton and Missoula to different parts of eastern Montana.  These projects don t just create jobs in Montana s growing film industry, but boosts the economy beyond that, Allison Whitmer, Montana film commissioner, said.
