The long-gestating project to improve pedestrian and bike access along Craig Street is moving forward, with the city set to hold an open house meeting on Wednesday night to share details on the project.
The wooden sign on Chrisler Avenue in Schenectady has been in place for roughly two decades. White letters painted on a crimson background declare, “Welcome to Mont Pleasant. Est. 1831.”
But earlier this month, city employees took down the sign, instigating an unwelcome fight that sends the exact wrong message about the state of city operations.
