The Blue Jays continue their opening weekend series against the Angels, still looking for their first win against them here in game 3 of their 4 game set. Tonight’s game is set to get underway again at 7:07 ET.
Blue Jays’ Starter
The Jays will send out the last pitcher to earn a win for them, going with lefty Steven Matz. Matz was remarkable in his first start on Monday, holding the Rangers to just a single run over 6.1 innings. He did an excellent job with the strikeouts and walks, but he also did an a good job keeping the ball very playable for his defenders when one was put in play. Overall, if he can be anywhere close to that for the majority of his starts, he will be a solid pitcher for the Jays this year.

After yesterday’s loss, the Blue Jays will take the quick turn around between games to try to put that behind them and take the opening series against the home town Yankees this afternoon. Gametime is set for the same 1:05 ET slot.
Blue Jays’ Starter
The Jays have opted to give the ball to T.J. Zeuch for the third start of the season, passing over a pair of rotation locks to go with the guy who was one of the last to earn a spot on the team. If Robbie Ray would have been healthy to start the season, I think Zeuch would have been starting the season at the alternate site, but that’s baseball. Hopefully Zeuch is able to take the opportunity and run with it.
