those attacks in kyiv. friday, explosions in kyiv and elsewhere this morning two days after putin s bridge to crimea was damaged. reporter: yeah, certainly was a rude awakening for us here in kyiv early in the morning. a little past 8 when the first explosion happened. i ll get out of your way so you can see what s going on here, rescue recovery crews have been working this whole time. right now they re taking away some of the cars that were absolutely mangled by the explosion. we believe the impact crater is where those people are standing around there. you can see that water coming out as well. seems as though the water lines underneath were damaged, the explosions were that strong. there s also one person at least was killed here. we have seen the recovery crews remove at least one body from the scene as we ve been working here throughout the entire morning. in total, the authorities have said that at least five people have been killed, but of course, christine, as you c
good morning. welcome to way too early on this monday, october 10th. thanks for starting your day with us. and we ll begin the show with the war in ukraine. overnight, multiple explosions rocked the capital city of kyiv for the first time in four months. according to the mayor of kyiv, explosions went off near the center of the city in an area that includes the historic old town as well as several government offices. the number of casualties is not yet clear. ukrainian media is also reporting explosions in several other cities including a refuge for many people fleeing the fighting. air raid sirens sounded in every region of ukraine except russia annexed crimea the past four hours. yesterday russia also launched a missile attack that hit a residential building, killing at least 13 people and injuring dozens more. at least ten children were hurt in that attack. according to the ukrainian air force, six missiles were launched from russian occupied areas in the city. the city

Breaking news in union city, where a toddler has been struck and killed by a car in the parking lot of the safeway on dakota road. In just the last few Minutes Police sent us a news release about the incident, which happened this afternoon. They say the 23monthold boy ran out into the parking lot from a store where his parents were shopping. The driver was not speeding and is cooperating with police.
