Today, i.e. on June 24, mostly southern parts will see more rains including the cities of Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Mahabaleshwar, Dapoli, Raigad. Mumbai may also see, but heavy showers are ruled out.
Southwest Monsoon may remain behind schedule for the state of Maharashtra. The central parts of the country including Chhattisgarh, Odisha and East Madhya Pradesh may have to wait longer than normal for the 1st monsoon showers.
The India Meteorological Department, Pune, has predicted that pre-monsoon rains will hit parts of Maharashtra from May 30 onwards. The winds bringing moisture over Maharashtra have resulted in favourable conditions for pre-monsoon rain activity.
